“Why don’t you go bother some one else? BESIDES ME!” She tried to walk faster but it was difficult with her pointy black boots. He was perfectly instep with her, even slightly clearing the crowd due to his tall lanky form and his obvious non city like appearance.
“I told you. I want to repay you for saving my life.” He said it in such a matter of fact way that she almost slapped him. Why did this mad man have so much confidence?
“If you want to do me a favor you can just leave me alone!” Ignoring her shrieking calf muscles she dodged a couple on her left and made another attempt to get away from him. It came to no big surprise but unwished on her part that he ended up right beside her again. Now Alice really did feel tears streaming down her face.
“Ugh!! I wish you would just quit following me!!” Alice didn’t even realize her slip until it was out of her mouth. She turned on her heel as fast as she could and shoved in between a couple who had just gotten out of their taxi and told the driver to drive.
She didn’t even have to look over her shoulder to know that the ‘genie’ was smiling
