chap 2 part 4
“Okay. Let’s say you are a genie. Well do genies have names?”
“Gregory. And yours is Alison or can I call you Alice.”
“Alice is fine.” Great we‘re now on a first name basis and as if breaking into my house and feeding me breakfast wasn’t enough now we’re getting all friendly. I must be going crazy! Well might as well go all the way.
“Well, Gregory. Since you really seem to know a lot,” her voice heavy with sarcasm, “Would you mind telling me how you found my apartment?”
He shrugged as he leaned back on the bar stool, his arms crossed.
“Not really, it was pretty easy. After you left there was a couple that you pushed aside who recognized who you were. Apparently your family is pretty popular as far as the city’s gossip goes. Not that I really follow that kind of thing. So it took very little time to find out that you lived in a separate building from the rest of your relatives and the location of your apartment. Which is by the way not to shabby for a photographer’s assistant.”
“Should I take that as a compliment or an insult?”

chap. 2 part 3
Even if she wanted to Alice couldn’t have resisted when he grabbed her hand and led her to the kitchen. The food smelled too good and she was too flustered to really resist. Before she knew it, she was sitting in one of kitchen bar stools facing a plate of piping hot pancakes with sausage and eggs. Syrup was poured onto the cakes while invisible hands slid a tall glass of pink colored smoothie towards her.
“I hope you don’t mind my picks. I personally love a good warm breakfast and plus we need to get some meat on them bones.” He was sitting next to her looking at her in a way that was innocent but at the same time completely sarcastic.
“What are you? My mother? Thanks for the thought. Really it’s nice, but don’t you think this is going a little far. I mean don’t you even know this is considered a crime. And plus how did you even find me?” She looked straight at him, determined not to look at the floating utensils and cooking supplies that were washing themselves in the sink.

chap 2 part 2
“Why are you holding an umbrella?”
Noticing that she was gaping at him like a fish, Alice quickly closed her mouth. Her awed gaze turned from embarrassed to angry. Embarrassed for her foolishness at still clutching the umbrella over her head and angry because he saw her embarrassed.
“What are you doing here?!” She nearly shrieked and she knew she probably should call the police. Heck she should be running away, screaming bloody murder. But because she knew that she was a terrible runner she would fall flat on her face. In addition to being a horrible runner her apartment was above her neighbors who soundproofed their walls for their random concerts. Clearly no one would ever be able to hear her in time. So she decided to play this guy’s game till she could get to the front door.

chap 2 part 1
Jumping out of bed, she grabbed her robe and pulled it over her tank top and pajama shorts, and opened the door that led to the hallway. On the way she picked up a stray umbrella she had lazily shoved in a corner the night before. Not that she really knew if it would help or not against a burglar. Slowly she made her way down the hallway and quietly began descending the spiral stair case that led to the living room and kitchen. She was just about at the bottom of the stairs when she saw the intruder and nearly fell down the staircase.
“GOOD morning sleepy head! Have a nice sleep?”
There right in front of her was the crazy idiot from the day before. He was wearing the same clothes except his thick locks of hair were tied in a half pony tail that revealed a thin white scar that went from the top of his right cheek bone to almost the bottom of his prominent square
jaw. He was also wearing over his street clothes one of Alice’s white aprons folded in half across his narrow waist. And there, all around him, was what seemed like to was the very definition of chaos.
Flour and sugar covered almost every surface possible, creating a big white cloud that seemed to engulf her kitchen. The once speckled gray and black counter tops were now nearly invisible under of pure whiteness. Even the cabinets had been marked, their smooth mahogany wood smeared with fingerprints. There were bowls, mixers, and other tools that Alice only vaguely remembered possessing after moving into her first apartment but never really got around to unwrapping them. And then there were some that she was fairly sure that she didn’t even own.

end of chap 1
“I told you. I want to repay you for saving my life.” He said it in such a matter of fact way that she almost slapped him. Why did this mad man have so much confidence?
“If you want to do me a favor you can just leave me alone!” Ignoring her shrieking calf muscles she dodged a couple on her left and made another attempt to get away from him. It came to no big surprise but unwished on her part that he ended up right beside her again. Now Alice really did feel tears streaming down her face.
“Ugh!! I wish you would just quit following me!!” Alice didn’t even realize her slip until it was out of her mouth. She turned on her heel as fast as she could and shoved in between a couple who had just gotten out of their taxi and told the driver to drive.
She didn’t even have to look over her shoulder to know that the ‘genie’ was smiling

Part 5
She tried to go around him but he just came right in front of her again. And when she side stepped him there he was again.
“Well I think I know how I can give you a substantial gift. I am going to bestow upon you three wishes. Any wish you would like I will grant it because I am a genie!!” He looked very confident in his answer almost smug. As if he was bestowing upon her some priceless gift.
Alice stared at him with pure horror on her face. Oh my God! I’ve saved some crazy weirdo! And that relaxed stance that he held in front of her only made her feel worse. Moving very quickly while keeping her face perfectly blank she pushed passed him. Yes he was defiantly some street punk just giving trouble.
“Hey! Wait a minute didn’t you hear what I said. I’m a genie! You know make a wish and it will be granted that sort of thing. HEY!” Alice had pushed into the crowd crossing the street and separated from him. But no sooner had she stepped up on the other side than she looked up to find him waiting for her.
“Alright, if you really are a genie why don’t you prove it?” Alice challenged, half remembering how in Aladdin Genie had demonstrated his powers in front of him.
The so-called genie hesitated. Alice raised her eyebrows and was and was about to walk away when he stopped her.
“Well I can’t exactly do that unless you make your first wish.”
Now Alice knew she was at her limit. She could almost feel her blood boiling. It was all too much. Both mother and brother were gone and on top of that her suicidal father being dishonored by her Tiffany. Plus a drug addicted step brother who couldn’t just leave her be. Now she needed to deal with this weird person who probably belonged in a mental hospital! It took almost all of her strength not to burst into angry tears right there in the street.

“Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?”
Racism
(1.) […] In almost every audience I address, there is someone who will suggest that racism is a thing of the past. There is always someone who hasn’t noticed the stereotypical images of people of color in the media, who hasn’t observed the housing discrimination in their community, who hasn’t read the newspaper articles about racial bias in lending practices[1] among well-known banks, who isn’t aware of the racial tracking[2] pattern at the local school, who hasn’t seen the reports of rising incidents of racially motivated hate crimes in America—in short, someone who hasn’t been paying attention to issues of race. But if you are paying attention, the legacy of racism is not hard to see, and we are all affected by it.
(2.) The impact of racism begins early. Even in our preschool years, we are exposed to misinformation[3] about people different from ourselves. Many of us grew up in neighborhoods where we had limited opportunities to interact with people different from our own families. When I ask my students, “How many of you grew up in neighborhoods where most of the people were from the same racial group as your own?” almost every hand goes up. There is still a great deal of social segregation in our communities. Consequently, most of the early information we receive about “others”—people racially, religiously, or economically different from ourselves—does not come as the result of firsthand experience. The secondhand information we do receive has often been distorted, shaped by cultural stereotypes, and left incomplete.
'Racism is the thing of the past'.... Tic..Tock..Tick..Tock DING.....WRONG!! I'm sorry but that is just a bunch of Baloney Sandwich! I mean do people even listen to the news? What do they think the tribal wars in the Middle East are for?Or even perhaps even listen to some of the crap that is said on TV that puts racist accusations to shame. The entire time I was reading this paragraph I was fuming! I mean how it amazes me that people can be so blind or just to plain stupid to acknowledge that racism is still around and very active problem. Racism is as present as white vs. black gang wars of the US and as ancient as the Hebrew slaves of the old egptian Pharohs. It has played a part in human history for thousands of years and it is most likely going to take just as long if not more to solve it.
To describe my anotation on this infiriating article is to describe a bunch of typed up words that were underlined or circled which were attached to my own personal feelings that came with them. Many were angery scribles that were supposed to look like words and drawings that did not say very kind things. These first two paragraphs are important because they bring describe the main points of racism before the auther gets into the stories behind them.

His full lips spread into a mischievous white toothed smile that made Alice stare at him for a moment before replying. What was she doing staring at this stranger?
“What do you mean I just bumped into you?”
For a moment he paused, before pointing at something over her shoulder. Though he kept his smile in place, for a split second she saw conflicting emotions in his eyes. She turned around and nearly yelped. Before her were the remains of huge grand piano, its many wooden pieces scattered everywhere across the sidewalk and street. Thick ropes were still attached to some of the pieces that were dangling like shards of a piñata. The instrument at one point must have cost a fortune and would probably be sorely missed.
Wow this really was one hell of a day! First I go to my fathers funeral with my crazy step family then I almost get killed by a falling piano! What’s next?! Am I going to continue the
family tradition and be a suicide case, too! Alice almost jumped out of her skin when she found she was being embraced from behind.
“THANK YOU! THANK YOU!”
“Hey!! Let me go!!” She tried elbowing him in the ribs but he dodged it, skipping backwards a step with the same smile on his face. Oh no, she thought, here’ s a crazy person right here!
“I am forever in your debt and I would like to repay you.”
Thinking quickly, Alice realized that she couldn’t escape by turning around because she couldn’t walk through the piano pieces with her high heels. But nor could she cross the street for fear of being flattened like a pancake by racing taxi cabs.

part 3
Out onto the sidewalk, she began to walk randomly through the busy sidewalk. She had to dodge several sewage and mud puddles before pushing and shoving her way through the crowd to get the most sheltered part of the sidewalk. Now that she thought about it the weather was even drearier then usual. From the beginning the funeral did have that sort of cliché kind of feeling like you see at a movie: the burial had been raining dully then it had stopped leaving a
big blanket of gloomy clouds hovering over the city. It was probably going to rain. What a day.
Alice pulled the hood of her trench coat over her head as a cold gust of wind blasted her from behind and knocked her forward. She tried to catch her balance. But instead she twisted her ankle on a crack which sent her staggering and falling on top of some tall looming figure in front of her. Her body hit something hard and cold.
“Hey are you okay?”
Gasping and trying to catch her breath she looked up into the two bright periwinkle blue eyes of her landing cushion. He must have not have been hurt because he didn’t look like he felt any pain even though she knew jabbed her elbow in his rib cage which actually hurt her.
“Oh I’m sorry!”
Realizing she was still on top of him, she got up. As she got up she winced, her entire body felt like it had been hit by a thousand needles.
This is defiantly not my day! She thought as she straightened up to look at the guy who was still remarkably standing there. Usually when something like this happens people run as if they did something wrong.
His dark leather jacket was only one shade deeper than his shoulder length brown hair which cascaded in many disorderly curls over his deep V necked white shirt. His build was on the slender side but there were hints of muscle beneath the folds of his tight shirt. When he stood up she saw multiple numbers of leather bracelets on his golden brown wrists before his hands disappeared into the pockets of his baggy blue jeans.

part 2
Glancing to the right towards my stepbrother, and she soon regretted the action. He might as well have not shown up at all, even a person without their senses intact could have seen that he didn’t have a mourning bone in his body even if it was for Tiffany’s own grave. And although Alice knew Tiffany didn’t care a cent for her father anyway at least she tried to act like she did however fake it looked. Continuously dabbing at her dry eyes, she was telling stories to all her salon friends of how great and loving Robert had been to her over the years.
“Ah, where did that smile go to? You were so cheerful just a second ago.”
Brian moved to the other side of Alice so she was trapped between the door and him not even caring that the other passengers were staring at them. Putting an arm around her he stretched his legs out looking like some drunken fool. He even carried the strong smell that came with being drunk. This was immediately made worse by the mix of cheap cologne that didn’t compliment his current state at all. He didn’t even have any deodorant on.
And he thought that girls would be turned on just because of his money? Well he was in for a surprise when finds the joining of Alice’s fist and his face. Alice resisted the urge to punch him and decided to spit her anger instead.
“Ahhhh, and where’s the solemnity Brian or did the booze and pot from your party last night sober you up so you could morn for your dear old stepdad?”
Alice almost burst out with laughter when she saw the almost cartoonish angry purple color line creep up from his unbuttoned white collared shirt to his greasy brown hair. His beady black eyes glared across the car at a couple of giggling high school girls who looked like they came from Tiffany’s side of the family with all their fake Channel and Prada bags on the laps. Yes, Alice thought, it was much better to fuel his fire when there was an audience to humiliate him.
But then he turned back to her with a look that said it was time to go. Satisfied but still personally annoyed, Alice walked over to the other part of the limo to tell Tiffany she was leaving.
“But you can’t go you’re the only relative that will be attending.” Tiffany whined as she tried to grab Alice’s arm to stop her.
Alice smiled sweetly at her stepmother.
“Don’t worry I’m sure that you can handle a little after party.” After all it was almost a early birthday party for Tiffany
“ALI-” Tiffany tried to grab her arm.

Alison Culpepper stared out of the car’s tinted windows as Tiffany and her driver argued about their all so superior intellect about navigating in the middle of rush hour. If there was any magic in the world it would take a good amount of it just to find a decent parking space in New York City. Alice glanced sideways at her stepmother. Five long blood red nails dug into the expensive black leather in reaction to whatever the poor limo driver said which then resulted in more shrieking. Alice looked away before the guests in the car could see her smirk. Tiffany for all of her attempts at surface magic had utterly failed as far as doing anything that could be told as any real magic like problem solving .
“What’s so funny?”
Alice flinched. Well there were at least two phenomenons that she still couldn’t quite figure out. One was how the Culpepper family once one of the most well thought of families in the district of New York’s social society, had fallen so quickly. It had all started when Jocelyn Culpepper died while giving birth to Alice’s only sibling, Matthew, who died eight years later due to premature lung development. And Robert, (as the psychiatrists explained to her after), already devastated by his wife’s death, just couldn’t handle the thought of seeing his only son dead. Ten months later, he was found hung from his two story apartment stairway with a suicide note and his will. But the fact that he died wasn’t even what she was stunned about, it was the fact that he didn’t even want to say good bye.
And after that it just kept going down hill after that. Tiffany took over the Culpepper family businesses which included Culpepper Design 4 Us, and the many family owned precious stone mines spread across the country. All of these industries required a lot of effort and time. Time that Tiffany would much rather spend getting a facial and painting little palm trees on her precious nails. So instead of even running them she let the vice presidents and their seceritaries do all the work, and plays the part of signing papers.
If she had had two daughters I would have felt like modern day Cinderella. But instead she had one offspring from her previous marriage. One drug addicted arrogant drug addicted son who was even worse then his mother.

Hello fellow bloggers & bored viewers
My point in writing these stories down and blasting them into the vast nothingness that is the Internet is to get them out of my poor cramped brain and onto a electronic screen. And to try to reach out and ask what others think of my writing. Writing is something I enjoy doing and I would greatly appretiate other people's in put and suggestions that could ultimatlety help me become a better writer.
I am a where of some problems I have with my writing, one of which is foreshadowing.Foreshadowing is a big problem for me because when ever I do drop any hints like that they are never very suttle or perhaps even nessesary. I also need to work on building up the intensity of the story that leads to the climax. I have tried to write stories several times but most of them either end up half done or the begining and end is finished but the middle is missing.
What I really want to get out of this blogging-experience is to come that much closer to becomeing a better writer and to actually get a story done!
